6 games to go in the season and the phillies are 1 game behind houston for the wild card and 4 games behind atlanta for the division lead. god they are makin this too darn excting. who would have thought that i would be still talkin phillies baseballl at the end of september. as long as they dont give up. i am proud to be a phillies fan right now. but what about those orioles fans. shame that your team told sammy sosa tto stay home. and what about rapheal. poor poor steriod user. a cheater that takes needles in the butt. dont hear any of that out of philly. heehee go phillies

I've gotta ask Loki...why do you even want to put the poor Phillies through the embarrassment of making the playoffs? If they manage to win the Wild Card they'll be playing the Cardinals in the first round and they don't' have a chance.

hmmm lets think about this for a little bit. yes if the phillies would make the playoffs they would be playing the cards. but they are hurt and the way the phillies normally play they stand a good chance of winning that series. they just dont give up. then theres the padres that should make it. well any sub 500 team makin the playoffs wont alst long. and then there is the braves and we all know what the braves do in the playoffs....and that is loss. i think who ever wins the wild card will be in the world series.
and now onto the phillies. two losses in a row dont help at all. i think that their chances to makin the playoffs are all but gone now. but the week isnt over. weirder things have happen. but give them credit...they have been clawin and biting the whole way.

1 down with 2 to play. They gonna rip our hearts out on Sunday when they go into the game tied with Houston. LOL. Seriously though, last time the Phils won the series they had to survive a 1 game playoff with Houston. History does repeat itself, let's just hope we have the chance to do it on Sunday or Monday if there is a playoff.

Well, no luck for the Phillies this year. It looks like the Cardinals will get to make quick work out of the Padres in the first round. I just hope that Atlanta roughs up the Astros a bit if they can't beat them. I'm much rather be going agaisnt the sorry pitching of the Braves instead fo the 1,2,3 punch of Houston. Not that we've had that much trouble against Houston this year, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

thephillies did what they had to do. 88 wins .....well i am still happy for them. this team will unstoppable next year. i see a division crown for them next year. but to bad the cubs couldnt score when their players are in scoring position or they should learn how to throw a baseball. i still think that the national league team will be the wildcard winner. hence the astros will be playin the red sox in the series. one thing is a given though......Braves + Playoffs=a quick exit. go phillies. see ya next year

Well, the Red Sox are out (so there goes your Wild card theory in the AL) and the Cardinals just took a 3-0 lead in game 3 looking like it's gonna be a sweep. The Astros are up 2 games to 1 over the Braves. But, I'm not afraid of either of those teams. I think we match up well against the Braves and we haven't had much problem when it counted against the Astros this year. The Cardinals offense seems to be coming alive in the Playoffs, so I think everyone needs to watch out.

As for the Braves, I told a Braves fan, the difference between a Braves fan and a Philly fan is that in Philly if you won 14 straight division titles with no WS championships, the Philly fans would have been Screaming for his head about 8 division titles ago. Brave fans seem to be content with winning Division titles, because how else can you explain all those empty seats for a playoff game.

The meeting with Wagner was already set up before Wade got fired. Plus Montgomery could sign him without a "True" GM being president of the ball club. Signing Wagner before he can officially file as a free agent is a good thing and will make the new GM's job that much easier.

true. but i still think they will hire one of their boys. and since ruben jr. is at the meetings with wagner also i think he might be a front runner along with the ex-gm of houston

well well well the phillies now have a new GM. and get this......he was the Gm of the blue jays when they beat the phillies in the 93 world series. tell me thats not poetic justice. gotta love the irony in that. well he does have a track record of winning so he should be a good fit. just glad the phillies didnt do what they always do and hire someone in house. glad they went down another road for once. should be a interesting year. now they need to resign wagner and go after some starting pitching.
go phillies

I really believe he is there to really take Reuben Amaro Jr. under his wing. In some ways he is like what they have had a "yes man" to the owner. But I really believe he is an improvement over Wade. Lets see what happens before Christmas.
