OMG, what was Charlie thinking. Bottom of the 9th 2 out bases loaded and you let Leiberthal hit ? New year, same result for Leiberthal, failure to drive in a run and swings at first pitch to boot. Why with a left handed bat in Nunez does he not hit him against a righty ? This may be a long year if he doesn't get smarter.

Look at that. The Phils have a 2 game winning streak. The bats are waking up just in time for a trip to Colorado and the thin air. But Manuel needs to put Howard in the 4 spot to give him some protection. I don't know of a manager that wouldn't pitch around him with David Bell and Leiberthal behind him.

Gee, Imagine that. In the first inning Utley just misses a HR getting a double and setting up men on 2nd and 3rd with Ryan Howard coming up. Naturally he gets the Intentional walk to get to David Bell, who promptly grounds out. I would have done the same thing as the Rockies manager with a right hander on the mound. Total miss-use of Howard.

how is it a miss use of howard. first was open. i woudl walk howard too. it was a good move on colorado to walk him. if Howard is slated to hit in that position they cant all of a sudden change the batting order for no reason if at all.
And yes the Phillies have a winning streak now. they beat Colorado tonight 10-8 to get to a 3- game winning streak. and Chase Utley now has 2 more home runs tonight
NY Mets: 8-1 Atlanta: 5-6 Phillies: 4-6 Florida: 3-6 Washington: 2-9

The miss use of Howard is that he will be pitched around all the time in the 6th spot. Pitchers will not really throw anything too close to the plate, knowing the David Bell is coming up. All they then have to do is get it within 6inches of a strike and bell with pop it up or hit a nice double play ball.
