OK, after hours of looking around on the internet for some official answers to some of these questions, I was glad to find this on Wizard's page- they're PDF files with answers to commonly asked questions (some due to extremely poor writing and editing, IMO) about D&D. www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/er/20030221a

LOL, you should have asked. The official D&D site is in my Favorites location for when I just want to look at things. It became evident when I started looking at DDO that it would be a valuable page to have.

You know men, we never ask for web directions It was rather maddening, apparently what I wanted to know had been printed in the 3.0 DMG and removed accidentally for the 3.5. What an upgrade
