Ritchie Blackmore, of Deep Purple and Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow fame, and Candice Night (a Renaissance singer) perform renaissance/medieval music in their band, Blackmore's Night. They often travel to and perform at Ren. Faires, the Pennsylvania Ren Faire being one. It certainly would be a treat to see them perform live. www.blackmoresnight.com/index2.htm

LWW, I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for showing me this site. I was a big fan of Rainbow and Deep Purple. Just went out and bought "Past Times With Good Company" and absolutely love it. I have a whole new respect for Ritchie as a musician. Candice's voice is just fantastic also. I hope I get the chance to see them in concert at some point.

LWW, I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for showing me this site. *curtsies* You're quite welcome m'dear. I very much recommend their first album, "Shadow of the Moon", and "Ghost of a Rose". While the ballads are hauntingly beautiful, the upbeat rennaisance songs are delightfully fun. The PA Ren Faire is one of Richie and Candice's favorites, and they go to it every year....hence why I am anxious for the Ren Faire to post their entertainment schedule.

The Village Lanterne, was just released today. Naturally I had to go and get it. Ritchie still shines on the Instrumentals, and Candice's voice is still haunting. I really enjoy the track Fairie Queen/Fairie Dance, very haunting tune that kicks into an instrumental at the end that makes you want to get up and dance. Also a very good remake of Joan Osbournes "St. Theresa". They also added a studio version of Mond Tanz/Child of Time, from Ritchies Deep Purple days, and 2 Versions of Rainbows "Street of Dreams". The first is Candice solo and the 2nd has Joe Lynn Taylor the original singer, from the Rainbow version, and Candice as a duet. That one I haven't gotten to yet. For fans of Blackmore's Night, you will not be dissappointed. For people who haven't listened to them yet, try it you'll like it. "St. Theresa" takes you back to how us old people really remember Ritchie's guitar playing.

Just got back from show. All I can say is AWESOME. I didn't even mind that not one song off of "Village Lantern" was done. Of course that seemed strange, since the shirts being sold were for "Village Lantern" (My bad, they did do "World of Stone". I can only give them 9 out of 10 tho. Trying for 5 min to get them come out for encore, which we didn't get, cost them 1. Ritchie looks so effortless up on stage playing. Candice was just as beautiful in person, as in pictures. The highlight for me was, probably the best sounding of the song "Diamonds and Rust". Even I got up for the standing ovation on this one. Candice seemed like she put her heart and soul into this song. It is so easy to just go out and sing a song over and over, but here it seemed special. I just hope they come back with more advance notice, so it can be properly advertised. I would guess that crowd at 150-200 most. But with like 3 weeks from time concert was announced to performance, that wasn't too bad.
