Its ok. I love all sorts of music but jazz is a whole new thing for me.

Ummm... this looks like a really old thread, but I just saw it - if you are getting into jazz, I'd check out:
Miles Davis (Bitch's Brew, Some Kind of Blue) Weather Report (any) Mahavishnu Orchestra (any) Wes Montgomery (any) John McGlauglin (any)
Weather Report and Mahavishnu Orchestra are both late 60's early 70's fusion efforts, Wes is a great old jazz guitar master, John Mc is very versatile - standards, fusion, cool and modal jazz, bebop, whatever - and Miles Davis is just the man. Miles is better if you like mellower jazz, especially Some Kind of Blue. Bitch's Brew is an early fusion album (think if Jimmy Hendrix sat in with a jazz band).
