Tis the season........Christmas is coming, and Thanksgiving is just around the corner for the Americans, so share your family holiday recipes here.
Yorkshire Pudding
Ingredients:
½ cup milk 1 egg, well-beaten ½ cup sifted all-purpose flour ¼ teaspoon salt ¼ cup of dripping from roasted beef
Preparation:
Preheat oven at 450º F
Combine milk and egg; beat till light. Gradually beat in sifted flour and salt till smooth. Let stand 30 minutes.
Divide beef dripping in a 6 large muffin tin or popover tin. Heat in oven, make sure you watch pan as it will start to smoke! Pour batter into hot pan; bake in hot over till done. Bake 10-15 minutes, popovers will puff up and become a dark brown on top.
Makes 6.
The trick is the hot fat and the hot oven. Don't keep opening the oven to check. Serve immediately as it will deflate as it gets cold. Pour beef gravy over top, or split and smooth on butter.

Glazed Pecans
Ingredients:
2 Tbsp unsalted butter 2 Tbsp light corn syrup 1 Tbsp water 1/2 tsp salt 2 cups whole pecans (almonds and walnuts work well too)
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 250 F. Line a jelly-roll pan with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
Melt the butter in a small non-stick saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the corn syrup, water and salt; bring to a boil. Remove from heat, add the nuts and stir until completely coated.
Spread the nuts on the prepared pan, bake, stirring occasionally, for about 1 hour, or until lightly browned and dry.
The nuts will stay fresh for about 3 weeks if kept in an airtight container at room temperature.

Something easy to make for, and with, the kids, for Halloween.
Eyeball Snacks
This recipe uses peanut butter, so if anyone is allergic to peanuts, keep it away from them.
Ingredients:
Package of round crackers, like Ritz Jar of creamy peanut butter Banana, sliced into 1/8 inch pieces. Raisins Red Licorice strands (the very thin ones, like spaghetti)
Preparation:
On each cracker, smooth out a layer of peanut butter, lay a banana slice in the center. Place a raisin in the center of the banana slice, and if needed, use a dab of peanut butter to hold it in place. Break up the licorice strands and lie them coming out from the raisin to imitate blood shot eyes.
