You can get around the low ceiling issue by using the "push technique". Bring the throwing hand to your shoulder and then extend your whole arm toward the board. You end up pointing at where the dart should hit. It takes time to learn to be smooth and accurate, but I was quite good using this method in the past. I had injured my elbow and couldn't throw the traditional way.
Also remember that only your foot has to be behind the throw line. You can take out a good three of the distance to the board with a nice lean.
I haven't throw much in a few years, so I wouldn't be too good, but I'd like to play sometime if someone has a gathering.

I plan on setting up a art board sometime over the winter so Pigdish can have a revenge go at my walls. I plan to do a lot of things though.

Tom we would love to have you back at our place again.
I tried the lean technique but I found that the instability really effected my accuracy so I now hold a solid stance. There are so many variables in Darts that I love the fine tuning aspect of the game and seeing the results.
I'm hoping to get a pool/table tennis table so we can try that also. I miss playing table tennis.
