Saw this over the weekend. I thought it had a good story line and very believable effects. The CG animals were all very believable. I'd give it a 4.5 stars out of 5.
We were trying to discuss where this all took place. The ending in Egypt was easy, so we were guessing the original tribe was from the northern part of the middle east in the mountains. Maybe even as far away as Russia...It was hard to tell. They didn't cross any great bodies of water really.

I've heard it's a good movie as long as you turn off your brain. Otherwise you'll be there constantly saying things like "Wait a minute, there weren't any large cities back then!" and "But agriculture wasn't developed for thousands of years after this!", etcetera.

I did notice that. Those 3 pyramids were not built until thousands of years later I thought. Mesopotamia wasn't even a city at this time and that was the first.
Also, boats with wind sails were not around for thousands of years either. They took a bit of creative liberties, but it was a very entertaining movie none-the-less.
Found this online just now. They are way off on their time frame.
Built: From about 2700 to 2500 B.C.
Location: Giza, Egypt, on west bank of Nile River near Cairo
History: The Egyptian Pyramids are the oldest and only surviving member of the ancient wonders.
Of the 10 pyramids at Giza, the first three are held in the highest regard. The first, and largest, was erected for the Pharaoh Khufu. Known as the Great Pyramid, it rises about 450 feet (having lost about 30 feet off the top over the years) and covers 13 acres.
