www.beowulfmovie.com/Umm, yeah! Can we say 300 rip-off? LOL When Beowulf says, "I AM BEOWULF!" doesn't it sound exactly like, "THIS IS SPARTA!"? I can't imagine this movie being better than mediocre beyond the superficial level of eye candy (which looks low grade in the trailers), the sexy babe, the fighting, and the shouting. Gawd, I hate the shouting. This movie is Hollywood cashing in on the success of another mindless movie and showing once again that there is no originality left in Hollywood filmmakers.

LOL, I'm sure you will MH.
What surprises me is that these movies get so much attention but a movie like Pathfinder didn't get the same hoopla. Pathfinder wasn't a brilliant movie but I thought it was pretty good.

I wanted to see that (pathfinder) but it seemed like it vanished after about 3 weeks of coming out. You say it was a decent film?

Yup, I enjoyed it. The vikings in that movie are so amazing.

I liked it too. A very new take for a movie. I don't know many that focused on the viking exploits in America. I think it didn't get much hype for how good the movie was.

Wow, I'm down to a netflix backlog of 60 movies now. Need to boost it up a bit.
Just saw Code of the Templar...kinda weird and a jumpy movie. Didn't really follow it well.
Saw Blade - House of Chthon...that was pretty good.

Just saw the previews for Beowulf....Unless Angelina Jolie gets naked in it, I'm totally not even bothering. What a rip off of 300's innovative cinematic ideas.

woohoo! Someone else agrees with me. I've seen a couple more previews of this movie and one thing keep striking me and that is how CG Beowulf looks. Is that a real actor or is he a CG generated guy?

I actually saw that movie and I thought it was very good. I don't know much about the original story of them two, so I don't know how well it stuck to them, but decent all around. It was much better then the Grendel movie they had on sci fi a while back. For the Beowulf movie, I'll see it just because Neil Gaiman did the screenplay and I love his work.

He did look CG. His beard was very wierd. I did some double takes there to see myself. Very confusing. I've seen so many Beowulf movies now, I'm a bit sick of them. Even the modern day take on the story kind of blew.
