Hello,
My name is Alan and I'm new to the greater Philadelphia area, having just moved here from Tampa Bay, FL.
I've been gaming for about 16 years with a range of systems including various incarnations of DnD, Shadowrun, World of Darkness and others.
When I left Tampa, I "quit" gaming and gave my books to a friend. Now that I'm up here, I at least wanted to take a look around and meet some of the locals. Without going off on too far a tangent, I see roleplaying as a hobby with great creative potential - with the right group of players. Finding such a group has often been a challenge.
Anyhow, my family and I are still getting settled in (they don't even move up until early August), so I'm not really looking for a group or game right now. However, if there are any groups within a reasonable drive from Morgantown, I would be interested in at least grabbing a cup of coffee and saying hello.
Regards, Alan

Hi, Alan! Most of us here are from around Lancaster, but there's some people from England and whatnot, so you might meet someone. It's pretty easy to find some people around the Philadelphia area, because they've got a lot of good game stores and you can probably find someone who's running something you're interested in, whether it be tabletop D&D, Vampire LARP, etc.
The gaming store I went to most often around Philadelphia when I lived in Willow Grove was Brave New Worlds, which has some good stuff. Anyway, you should check what gaming store are near you and go there to ask around, it's probably the best way to find some people. I'm sure you'll find what you want eventually!

Merry Meet Alan and welcome to the Hall. Morgantown, well that's only about 45 minutes to an hour from Lancaster, so going to Six Feet Under Games (located in New Holland - in between Morgantown and Lancaster) may be your better bet than travelling all the way to Philly. Currently all our gaming groups are full, but you never know when that will change, or another group will start up. Until then, feel free to join into the conversations, or start some of your own; we've got lots of topics going round.

Hello!, Oh dear....Um....I think maybe we need more DM's. I would love to have you all join LGG1, they are the best group of players I have encountered in some time though the PAHWG is getting a fresh start and looking good.
Well good luck. Gotta run. Welcome.

I drive through Morgantown every day on my way to work. Morgantown is about 15 minutes from New Holland, the new home of 6 ft under games. Where most games are held in Lancaster is another 15 minutes down the road from that. You are looking at about a 30 min drive, not too terribly bad.

Antioch Antioch, I finally got around to mapping out Six Feet Under. Yahoo! Maps says 27 minutes, but that seems a bit long (my wife says 20 minutes, and she's a better navigator than I'll ever be). Anyhow, I'd be interested in starting something up at the store. The best for me would be every other Saturday from 6 to about 10 PM. I know that four hours doesn't sound like much, but if the session is focused a lot of gaming can take place in that time. I'm pretty open as to system and am willing to GM. Once there's some folks showing interest, then game/system/genre can be discussed. One thing at a time. ;D Alan

Welcome and well met. Good to see new people arriving here everyday.
Once again I will thank MH for providing a place for all these wayward gamers to meet.

Welcome back Alan!!! Hey pigdish...not everyone is a member of my Wayward Gamers group; the house isn't big enough to fit everyone in.

Merry Meet StealthFrequency and welcome to the Hall. Alan drifts in and out, so don't be discouraged if he doesn't answer your post. Try emailing him to give him a little boost.

Alan, I am interested in a game. What game did you have in mind? Lady Winter Wolf is right, I do tend to drift. Not on purpose - it would probably help if the board sent out emails for subscribed thread (or does it and I'm just missing something?). Anyhow, I don't have a specific game in mind. Right now, I'm more interested in trying to find a decent group of fellows with which to game - people who take the game seriously but have other interests and know where the balance lies. My "ideal" session would be every other Saturday from 6 to 10 PM, possibly running to 11 if the game is going well. 4 hours doesn't sound like much, but if they're focused a lot of good gaming can get done. I'm willing to GM most games (though not D20), and am willing to play most any game (including D20). The important thing to me is a good plot, a balance between story and action, and a good bunch of gamers. That was probably not quite as concise an answer as you wanted, stealthfrequency, but I hope it helps explain what I'm trying to set up. If anyone is interested, it may be better to email me off-board at alanhaley@gmail.com. Regards, Alan
