A brief synopsis.
The battle has begun.
Our wayward heroes battle fiercely against an Undead Mountain Troll and two massive Undead dog like monsters made of up of the bodies of the dead.
Even as our heroes turn the tides of battle back in their direction the ground erupts with the arrival of an obsidian elemental. Three bladed arms swing into action dealing devastating damage to the half dragon while shiv takes his own from one of the hounds.
The tides again turn but our heroes will not falter and in the end they slay the beasts and overcome their enemies.
Making their way into the entrance of the Necropolis they find a winding stair case leading down from a ledge. Beyond they can see a great hall leading to a cavern. Above the entrance to that cavern is carved a throne and upon that throne sits the demon of which Ryle, the necromancer, is all to familiar. A small army of undead lay beneath them and beyond the scritches, wails and marching of undead and shadow creatures from the newly constructed gate can be heard.
The demon rises to greet his adversaries but Locksly throws a spell and the earth trembles. Cracks rend the hall floor in two. Supports and stairs and throne alike tumble to the floor 175' below. Plums of dust rise and a thunderous roar accompanies loud cracks and pops as the ceiling collapses and the gate falls.
1/3rd of the entire mountain collapses in on itself due to the Earthquake spell sealing those within.
Our heroes have once again averted disaster and helped to save not just their world but unbeknown st to them, the entire multiverse.
You have come far. From the beginnings to near epic levels, you have come through dark times. Companions have died and evil has turned one against another but you have overcome these. Some of you have fallen and repented and been raised up again. You have seen many wonders and traveled from the ends of the earth to the planes themselves. You have all done well. You are heroes. Unlikely it seemed at times but none-the-less, heroes you are.

In the darkness above. Within the void. A black star moves silently. It passes within the boundaries that is the Terresilian System. This moon sized entity slumbers, fitfully, restless. In its madness, its nightmarish dreams, it feels the warmth of the sun and hears the haunting echo of life. It is dim, far away, muted and distorted and for a moment it gains a foggy consciousness. but death is its only pleasure. Life is its bane, a reminder of what it sacrificed to bring existence to the multiverse. Death calls it, sweet decay. The sweet music of tortured souls, a thousand screams of agony.
Not here.....Not today. Atropus sinks back into its nightmarish slumber and moves on.
Silently, the moon sized entity passes. Silently it has come and silently it goes. .......................................................................................................As LGG1 stops the armies of the undead PAHWG fought bravely in the planes to stop Avrax from getting the last spell component, an angles tears, and using a rain of fire spell to kill all the citizens of Sarago.
It was later discovered that there were in fact two spells of this nature to be cast. One in Sarago would bring Atropus to the world. A prepared gate would then open and another spell would be unleashed at its end thus allowing Atropus to enter the plains and wreak havoc among the denizens there.
Indeed, the very home of many of the gods and the deities themselves were at risk. The multiverse lay in peril were it not for these two parties of adventurers.
The multiverse is balanced once again. Lolth and her allies have managed to close the portals and rifts that were commonly used by the armies of Baator and the Nine Hells and have driven back many of its denizens. Skirmishes are still fought within the Abyss' infinite layers but the balance of power is restored.
Avrax still remains to plot and scheme even though Tiamat bides her time to exact punishment for Avrax's lofty goals. Still, there are others who would like to see him put to rest, once and for all, but that.....is another adventure.

DM NOTE
As the two groups have worked separately but for the same cause and because both groups have succeeded in their tasks PAHWG will not be confronting LGG1 in direct opposition nor shall they be joining force to fight against Atropus.
The PA Home for Wayward Gamers time has passed and their adventures will live on with new players, a new DM and will have their own stories to live and tell.
The Lancaster Gaming Group 1 may continue to tie up any loose ends if you wish. To further your adventures as long as I remain here. But that is a decision best left for a New Year. For now I thank you.
LGG1, your strategies and ability to work together has been enlightening and delightful. Like PAHWG you have challenged me as a DM. Especially when it comes to the complex rues of 3.5.
Several years have passed and I remember when this was but a small, plaintive request on Meetup.com. There it seemed to be doomed even before it had begun but I decided to put my money where my mouth was and challenge those who wanted to game.
I built it....and you did come. As with PAHWG we have seen players come and go. We have shared laughter and groans. Met with personal challenges as well as those in game. I am blessed to have shared in all of your lives and hospitalities and I thank you for allowing me to share my life and my experience as a DM with you all.
