Alrighty people, it's that time again. The battle with Avarax continues, promising to be even greater. Avrax the red dragon is poised for his next attack while the denizens of the Necropolice build up their defenses and the undead leagion in the shadow plane await the gates opening.
Forces from across the planes move henchmen in an effort to find or create a hole to the prime plane while the battles rage across the Abyss and the lower Planes.
Deities from the upper planes are preparing to wage war on the denizens of the lower planes in order to gain a foothold against the forces of evil. Some however sence a greater threat. Even now a meeting is taking place between a small group of Immortals.

Kaber, sweetheart, love of my life...did you forget to mention that the game is this coming Sunday, November 9th; that folks usually start arriving around 11:30am, and that we'll be ordering in pizza? Just checking. ;D

This is actually Morgause. Laziness prevails, and it so much easier to use Rincewind's login. Rincewind plans on coming to the game. I'm afraid that I probably won't, though. We're going to (finally) be moving soon, and there's just so much stuff that has to be done around this house first. If I can get a babysitter for Sunday, I feel that I have to take advantage of the time and try to fix up this place. For anyone who's curious, we've made an offer on a house and as long as we can get the mortgage, we're supposed to be having settlement in early December. It's close enough that Rincewind can still get to games, but I'm afraid it's going to be farther from everyone else than we are now. On the plus side, it has a great basement with a bar that we hope to one day put taps in. Soda anyone? #cheers#

And so.......The battle rages. Avrax returns to the Prime Plane and in doing so, activates his chain contingency spell. A gate appears behind Seamus and an invisible force hurls him and his dragon companion, Anna, through the as strange plumes of smoke and frost waft from the Avrax's mouth.
Even as this happens, in a far corner of the world Wee Jas summons a champion to aid the companions in battle. Another War Mage. She grants him a Quest Spell, a resurrection with full heal 1/week.
The battle is fierce and long fought. Avrax fires his breath weapon which seems infused with fire and frost doing twice the normal damage and slaying Shiv. but the Necromancers presence offers the heroes the edge they need when he begins to do ability damage. Avrax at half hit points and weakened, teleports away after giving the forces of darkness the time they need.
A peal of thunder and an explosion rock the area as the Gate to the Shadow Plane is opened and undead from the shadow plane begin to enter the necropolis.
Meanwhile, the demon that has plagued Ryle returns, boasting of his Possesion over Ryles former companion the undead skeleton familiar called Bones. It was he, through Bones, that caused the Gate to be built and usurp control over Ryles undead citizens. He tells them of Ryles unwitting part in the calling of the Elder Evil and how he will be responsible for the extinction of life on this world. The party attack ther Demon and he battles until nearly dead before challenging them to meet him in the necropolis.
Meanwhile the Bodak, Gorgauth, former General of Demigorgons undead army, takes to the skys on his construct while the party rest and prepare.
.......................................................................................................
Reaching the entrance to the necropolis our would be heroes are confronted by a vampire captain and a hoard of undead humanoids as well as two Undead Mountain Trolls, two Carnage Hounds and an unfamiliar sight. Two mammoth bone pillars 20' high, 20' wide and made of bone and dead bodies piled atop each other stand on either side of the entrance. They writhe with undead life and a demonic aura.
Ryle challenges the Vampire warrior, making a touch attack, and heals the creature doing over 100pts of damage. The vampire is sent to his knees with 1 hp left and it does the 1 pt of damage to itself, sending itself into a gaseous state and allowing it to retreat. The Trolls move in as Locskly casts a fireball into the midst of the undead army.
The half dragon/ Minotaur charges forward and swings a mighty blow but it falls short as the hulking undead takes an attack of opportunity. Having been boosted by Ryles necromantic powers upon its creation, the massive brute backhands the half dragon, knocking him prone on the ground. The second Troll moves to attack as Shiv strikes but misses and Ryle prepares to take command. Locksly looses another deleayed blast fireball.
Bolstered by their fight with Avrax and the Demon the party readies their actions, prepared to take on the dark forces before them but will their victories be short lived!? Can our heroes infiltrate the Necropolis, close the gate and stop more of the undead hoard from moving through? Can Ryle take back his undead citizens before a nightmare of epic proportions is unleashed upon the world?
........................................................................................................
(NOTE: Some distance away and some days later a young lad appears at the doors of the Highmark Conclave. He seems out of breath and says he needs to speak to the lord of the castle. He will tell them of his mentor, who is dying from wounds suffered in his travels. He will tell them that his master has learned terrible things.
If any venture to the old man they will be told of the Elder Evil. Of a party of adventurers who set out to summon the beast and of a necromancer who holds the fate of the world in hands. They will be told how the necromancer has built an undead empire of undead with the intent to spread undeath like a cancer, that he has summoned a terrible Demon to do his bidding and lead his army. He tells them that these villains must be stopped at all costs.....or life on this world will perish forevermore.
.......................................................................................................
Somewhere, faraway. On another plane of existence. Seamus McPhee wakes up from unconsciousness. The ground shudders occasionally and there is a smell of sulpher in the air. He is covered by some sort of hide and a fire crackles. He opens his eyes to find himself in a small alcove. More of a low, deep, crack in a mountain wall. Grumbling to himself, a small reddish looking devil roasts some sort of lizard over the flames. ......................................................................................................
More to come...........

Firstly, congrats to Rincewind and Morgause on the move.
Secondly, WOW! It was very thrilling to decipher/read the adventure. I can't wait to see where it leads. I'm wondering if all our problems can be whisked away by just killing Ryle. lol Just kidding!

lol, whoops. It was late, I was tired and I didn't spell check. Wow, I didn't even realize the mistakes until I went back and looked. I'll correct them shortly.
