2 things- first, NPR referred to President Bush as "one of the most influential veterans" when talking about his opposition to giving veterans more money to go to college. I immediately thought "Wow, that's actually wrong on TWO fronts!", as 1) Bush is, by this point, about as influential as shower grout. People will go to some lengths to avoid it, get rid of it, and not be seen with it in public, but it's not a major influence on most of the things they do. 2) Calling Bush W a veteran has to be a real kick in the nads to all the people who actually served their country in Vietnam, instead of having their parents buy them a spot in the national guard. Yes, these days the Guard is hardcore and one of the least cushy things on earth. But back then....
The second thing that struck me about the news was them mentioning how a lot of oil is traded in the dark or in dark markets. I think "Oh, THAT's why the price is so high- there's the constant risk of being eaten by a grue!"
