Hello all. I'm Doug, a 40 year old gamer who has moved back to Lancaster city after being away for 6ish years. I ran Gaming Point in downtown Lancaster for about 5.5 years- a hybred LAN-Center/Gaming Club. Had enough of that about 6 years ago so I moved down to Baltimore and holed-up in a cheap apartment and spent most my time online gaming and painting. Realized I better get out more and meet some people again so I decided to move back to Lancaster city, where I could get around easier without a car and where I was familiar with the various cafes/bars I can kill time in, and still knew some familiar faces around.
I heard of this site from a posting on the Lancaster Comic Shop's bulletin board, when I was looking for gaming groups looking for new players. So here I am. I'm experienced in 3rd edition D&D and have plenty of game materials in that. I'm somewhat familiar with some other pen & paper games, and willing to learn them. I'm just reaching out to meet some new people in the area who have a common interest in gaming. I see you usually hold gaming nights 1/month. That works for me and I'm available any day or night of the week for the forseeable future.

Merry Meet Yates and welcome back to Lancaster, and welcome to the Hall. There are several tabletop games going on, you'll have to check with the DMs about openings; and also some online games to bide the time. Try out the Brawling Pit while you're wandering around the place. Enjoy!!!

"Oohh an artist did you say? Traditional or Digital? (I designed and painted our rockin' banner)". Traditional- very. I simply do oil paints on stretched canvas, usually. I have a Photobucket page showing my paintings, if you'd like to see them. there's 2 webpages worth there. [ftp]http://s242.photobucket.com/albums/ff257/Yates1968/?special_track=nav_tab_album[/ftp]
I'll have to contact some of the gm's here and see if i can fit into any of your sessions.

Hello, good to see you. It's tricky with the campaigns right now- the ones in most dire need of players will be ending in a few months, so it's not the best time to enter them. For some of the people looking for a game right now, I'd say that you might want to start your own- we've had enough interest from people we can't place in one of the other games that there would probably be enough players. There will also be new games starting up when the old ones die out, but that will be at least 5 months from now and possibly more than a year.
Most of the games on this board are playing once a month- so again, if someone wants a game that's more often, we might want to get a new group started by someone who's not already DMing and playing in 2-3 of the other groups, heh.

I like the idea of a group that meets more than 1/month. Are there any DM's available for a new group like that? First I figure you have to find the DM, -then- gather the players.

Hello Yates. Welcome to Aesirin Hall. Hope we can get you in touch with enough players to start a new game up.

hmm...so....nothing has been pm'd to me or anything. Is there any Game Master that has a spot in his group? If I like the first session, you'll be sure to know that I'll be a reliable regular. I would even sit in for only 1 session, or temporarily, if someone regular in the group is away awhile, then leave when that person comes back. At least I'd get my foot in one of these doors.

A lot of us are pretty busy at the moment- but I need to go through my notes and call a person who was interested in setting up a game, yet has poor internet access. If things go well he'd like to start or be in a bi-weekly (or more often) group. He doesn't have good internet access, though, hence the lack of posting.

I should mention that, since I live in Lancaster city and can walk everywhere I want to go, I do not have transportation. I'm limited to gaming sessions that are held downtown. Thanks for the private messages today all. The ball is rolling for me to get a group now.

Thanks for the private messages today all. The ball is rolling for me to get a group now. Usually someone is willing to give a ride to someone who needs it; arrangements can be made for transport. But good news on the gaming options!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *glares at Rincewind* Cause I can.

ANYway, I talked to him, he's got a homebrew world, no dwarves but they have half-ogres. He's thinking of playing Saturday 11-5, but if someone's interested in a new campaign that plays about twice a month, please PM me with your name, number, when would be a good time to call you, and what would be a good day and time to play a game in case he needs to change his initial plan. Since he doesn't have net access I'm going to have to be the intermediate here. I should mention that it's possible that people without transportation could be picked up by other players, but of course it depends on the other players.
Well, there you go, if there's enough interest that should be the start of LGG7. Let me know if you're interested in his game!
