Yes I know that polymorph has been restricted in the "official games," but since no one really cares about the RPGA and since the spell has not been banned in our campaign it is still valid for discussion and comparison. I am also aware of the fact that the spell is overpowered, and has been since the original MM was published, and for the record the war troll is not more powerful then the regular troll unless he has his sword and armor, which no shape shifting spell or ability that I know of grants.

As far as polymorph goes, it really should have a spellcraft check associated with it, though I really don't feel up to determining how that would work, and it would just wind up being the victim of characters with high spellcraft. It would be like the practice of peeing in the ocean to warm it up. However, I think any spell with as much flexibility (wish, geas/quest, so forth) should always be heavily adjudicated by the DM, as in the player may decide to cast the spell expecting and declaring a specific result, but the DM then confirms what actually happens. If you think about magic from a practical standpoint, attempting to do anything complicated with a spell would likely always be unpredictable at first, much the same as a scientific experiment can be. You know what you want to have happen, but all of the variables still have their parts to play. I'm not sure if that actually makes sense. Anyway, I think balance in the game is the key, which is what I think everyone is saying. If one character alone can tackle what half of the party would struggle with, there is a balance issue.

It's one of the reasons, I'm letting Kaber decide if the 1/2Dragon/Mino stays in game. Offensively with the buffs the group can give him, he is broken. However I made it easier to hit and with level adjustment, he lacks the HP. So in that way, he is a little balanced. His strength gives him an advantage of overcoming DR, but only by a little.

Sure, cough 34 cough. The HP only balances him out against A multiple enemies of notworthy ability (AKA a Kaber mob) or one enemy that will survive more than 4 rounds. Still, all of this has to wind up squarely at Kaber's feet. As we all should know, his game, his call.

I'm not certain, but the 9th seems like it would be in keeping with our pattern.

Ok, so how are we going to proceed from the point we left off in our last game? With the departure of the adamantine bird thingy we've got this incredibly powerful golem/elemental thing, can't recall what it was except that it was going to be bad.

I will not be able to attend the game Sunday. I'm doing a renovation project in Harrisburg and will be working all weekend on it. Sorry guys. Someone can play my character if they would like. Not like I haven't killed him enough times as it is, once more wouldn't be so terrible...lol

I thought 11 am was decided on. I believe metro opens at 10:30, but if I'm wrong, then I'll be a few minutes late (like 20 or 30). I'll check up with Larry and Curly, make sure they remember.
