I've been thinking, with the ridiculous increase in party joinings, we should come up with a better system to implement the cards and the contract. Otherwise the whole "Draw from the deck, do it cause I said it" isn't very persuasive. I propose that anyone seeking to join our party may have tentative membership without drawing the cards, however, they have no say in our goals, plans, or any other major party decision. When they have proven their mettle, they offered the opportunity to join, but must draw from the deck, minimum 1 card. Oh yeah, until they do this, they should also not be granted access to our hoards of good equipment.

Seems reasonable. Of course, we have two veteran party member who haven't drawn, and by this point I wouldn't want to force them to. But they can be grandfathered in, I suppose.

Well that is a little beside the point. The only veterans who have not drawn were members of the party before the cards. The original party members who drew cards were not required to, the contract is only in force to protect the wealth.

Starkadder hasn't drawn them.

Neither has Rawl, but he was there before we got the cards and has seen too many die or be imprisoned to even try. Dragonsrule got attacked and killed by a wraith because we didn't have any magical weapons yet. I was next in line and I said "Check please!"

So the elder party members are grandfathered in, and Starkadder doesn't since he's more recent, so he doesn't get access to all our magical equipment which he can't wear anyway, hehe. Works for me.

Sounds like we've finally found a decent in character method to all of our out of character madness.

Thank gawd! Just thinking of drawing from that freaky deck makes my palms sweat.
