Easy friends. It won't be for another year or two. We still have plenty of gaming left to do.

Maybe more if everyone else keeps getting together at my house once a month and we set up a dedicated webcam for you to DM through

You know that would be awsome. I could really generate sound fx and even be able to provide better visual aids. . I have actually wondered how difficult that would be. I have a buddy in Utah who I used to game with. I always thought it would be kewl to do a video conference game with him and PAHWG.

I think that if you set the cameras and monitor up appropriately that it wouldn't be too hard, particularly with the DM on the monitor. It gets trickier with a player, because then nobody can really verify their die rolls (depending on the camera view, I know, but chances are they'll be too small). For a DM it just gets easier to fudge your die rolls, heh. It's only going to get easier to do that sort of thing, the way the technology is evolving. Ah well, just a fun thought. I don't personally know how you set these things up, but here's a link- it can get complicated. cowboyfrank.net/webcams/HowTo.htm

Check the 4E WotC site - I think they are developing a tool for that kind of distance gaming right now...

I had some friends who tried this. One player moved away and he tried to play via webcam. It turned out to be hard. He often couldn't hear individuals over the general hubbub at the table. He also found himself getting distacted out of boredom when he wasn't doing anything.
I am not saything you should try, but they found it difficult. I would suggest trying to do it before you move in order to try to work out the kinks.

A while back, I had a big problem with ToysRUs.com screwing up my order and not sending it, as they later said the item wasn't in stock.... yet days after they cancelled it, it was in stock on their website. Instead of ordering it again (since it was in stock) I tried asking them to uncancel it... but by the time their burocracy got to it, it was out of stock again. Anyway, the long and the short is that since I hated them and told them I never wanted to shop there again they gave me a $25 gift card to shop there in the future #banghead#
It's like that time I asked Chic-Fil-A to stop sending me free chicken cards since I don't eat chicken and they apologized and sent me a coupon for a free chicken sandwitch *sigh*

We use teamspeak for one of my games, that works out well for video only. We do another program at work which is visual and everything. Go to Meeting, it lets you see someone else's computer screen for a conference. I'm sure we could work something out Kaber. We all really enjoy your games.
Thanks for the support everyone. I've been feeling really crappy about the whole thing, even though I know deep down it's the best for both of us. Still really sucks

My buddy had a neat idea though. Since I got a half ass bachelor party on the way into marriage, he wants to throw me a kick ass one on the way out. I'm game!! It'll be a true bachelor party, anyway...ROTFL

I have no idea what a "real" bachelor party is. For Andy's, I only barely prevented him from taking the group cow-tipping, we watched Spawn DVD's and played a quick D&D game most of the time and went to a Rocky Horror midnight showing. And for mine, we all played Laser Tag. Fun, though.

Yeah, the last one I was at, one of the dancers got out of hand, started waiving a badge and a gun, yelling about rights, and arrest and something about drug traffic. So we snuffed her, but it was a rea buzz kill. What the heck is drug traffic anyway, I've never been stuck in it. Maybe I'll use that one on Monday for work. "Sorry I'm 90 days late, I got held up in drug traffic"

my bachelor party I had 2 friends and my father and father-in-law. Not a single drink and we played pool for 2 hours and went to bed. It was alright, but no drinking. I want to at least have a few beers.
That's a good one Grond, I'll try that. Wait, 90 days late??!!??

I guess for a "real" bachelor party version you could hire a stripper to play Laser Tag with you while drinking. Or face off against a team of topless dancers and use the lasers to defend the keg at the center of the arena
