Battle for Brightstone Keep

Chancellor Xanaphia had never seen the High Warden so angry before. The thought of another force declaring to invade a territory of the Conclave had brought Max to his current state.

Max turned his fiery gaze on the commander of the Shinning Legion. "What preparations are being made to forstall this foolish move King ____ is making with his current actions?" Without waiting for an answer Max said, "I am told that our new allies from the Jade Empire are coming to the Conclave. See that they are sent to me as soon as they arrive. I want this business to end smoothly and fast. The last thing I want is to be on uncertain terms with another kingdom."

Xanaphia chased after Max. "Max, I believe larger forces are at work. Homgiel's presence has retreated slightly. And my scrying attempt on Brightstone Keep are fully blocked and now, just today, I felt, what I believe was Homgiel blocking me as if to protect me. I will commune with Him to see what I may learn. But, Max, my students are not ready to defend attacks from large forces. Wellby and I will do all we can, but..." she trailed off letting the emotions on her face say it all. She would do anything to defend her students and the knowledge first, the keep second.
