Lol, well all. It stands as such. Many wanted to try 3rd edition. Our 2E game seemed to be drifiting and so new characters and a new game where created. Something everyone, I think will enjoy. And so the story begins.
Chapter 1 - The Hag Stones of Lasharad.
Two Paladines( one a female halfling Paladin), two Sourcerours ( one also a tailor), A Barbarian Cleric, A Half Elf Ranger (female) and a human fighter find themselves together trying to repair a wagon stuck in a rutted road.
They easily Mend the wagons wheel and as dusk approaches head on to the nearsest twon. The town of Folkhurst. Folkhurst is an oppresed little town. Its walls are little more than wooden planks, ill set and the gates are warped and rugged. The whole of the town is dark and oppresive. An old man greetes them at the gates. His armour is badly cared for, he is weak kneed and frightened by the oncoming strangers but after they explain themselves the old man throws himself at their feet and crys salvation to them. It seems that the town is cursed. Their crops wither, all the children between the ages of 10 and 18 have vanished one by one, hunting is poor and noone will enter the woods 7 miles away for the woods are enchanted. To make matters worse, every 2-3 weeks Harpys attack the village. Stealing what goods they have and ransacking homes. The people have no will and are in fact Apathetic to the raids. Also there is the castle some distance away on a mountain pass. The castle can be seen from the town, a dark cloud huddles over it and it is from this castle that the harpys come.
Well our heros set about to teach these people to fight and to rebuild their defences and how to care for their weapons and armour. They do not even seem interested. 12 hours pass and nothing. After another 12 hours one of the party starts to become a bit depressed but with help of the Cleric (a blessing upon him) he is well again. It is soon desicovered that the town is bespelled. Those who remain within the town must succeed a will save (DC 15 +1 for every 12 hours in town) or become first depressed, then apathetic. The party is attacked by harpys on the third day and after a rousing battle they are defeated. The party then seeks out the source of evil in the town and (with the help of the halfling Paladin and the clerics prayers) find an iron canister radiating a strong evil aura. They take it out of town to destroy it and upon doing so find a gem within. One of three. A green oval stone smooth and polished, glimmering in the sun. It charms the Barbarian who turns to strike one of the party thinking he is the gem. He misses. This is on the fith day and again harpys attack. Seeking the gem for themselves. They are dealt with again. The elf grabs the gem and runs into the nearby wood while the barbarian cleric (Now 13 ft tall with the aid of a growth spell and enraged) charges after. Here in the wood, vines and roots reach out to entangle our heros, the barbarian succumbs to them and is held, while the elf leaps up into the tree tops and trys to consoul the barbarian. Soon his spell and rage depart. The fighter however has become ensnared by another aspect of the forest. For every half hour in the wood a will save (DC15) must be made or you become hoplessly lost. Our fighter became lost. In addition the forest regrows and broken branches, treaded grass or such every half hour. Thus making tracking nearly impossible. So the elf leads the party out of the forest and returns to seek the fighter. He finds the fighter after some time. In a clearing where a stone tower stands. It has no entrance, no windows. there are twelve sarcophigi circleing the tower. A myrid of black birds caw and heckle the two. (It is noted that there are aproximalty as many birds as there are missing children). The elf and the fighter leave the wood and tell the rest of the party what was found.
This concluded our game for now. I will admit that there are elements of Van helsing and in the woods a strong relation to the Brothers Grim. there are of course differances but everyone enjoyed themselves nonthe less.

Hey, you forgot to mention the curtains. If it wasn't for my halfling paladin, that church wouldn't have any curtains at all.........where's my pastries? .....and why is the god Tyr banging his head on a tree again? BTW....the crescent dogs and mac n' cheese were a hit....not a morsel left.

Ok,ok. Yes I admit that did throw me. Light flares in the faces of my Harpies was unexpected. And yes our tailor proceded to make the town a flag to boost moral. MH has shown us his rendition of the town flag. And the Halfing Paladin did chip in to cheer the town up by having curtains hung......in the church.
And YES! The pics are coming. *Sigh* Between loving up LWW, work, 3D Animation, Video editing, Audio mixing, Bussiness cards, D&D, Photography, Ghost hunting, Meetups, and Graphic design well....there's only so much time in a day and so much to do. I will post my newest collage in the doodles thread and the Ren fair pics will be put somwhere in this area.
(did I foget to mention, cleaning the doberman's ears, feeding and loving the cats, and the weekend chores.)
Nice flag btw MH.
