You have got to get KOTOR II. Its miles better than the original with great characters. Ive played it through twice so far playing light side characters and now im working my way up the dark side of the force.......Mhooaa force lightnening is forcetastic. There's a NEW one?!! Cool. I tried some Jedi Academy thing and some other Star Wars variation, but as you can tell from my inability to remember the names, I wasn't very impressed... but I really enjoyed "KOTOR". I had ten days off around Christmas and it was like taking a vacation, snowed in and traveling the galaxy and kicking ass with a pair of lightsabers. Oh yeah!

I forgot to mention another D&D classic, Planescape: Torment. It's old now so the graphics aren't the best, the interface was always clunky (IMO), but if you can find it it's $10 and has one of the best plots of any game, plus you have SO many choices in the game. (If you can't find it, I'm pretty sure that it was on Home of the Underdogs for download.) Plus, name me ONE other game where you invite someone to disembowl you in the hope that there's treasure in your intestines. And "live" to collect.
Yeah, I'm getting KOTOR II as soon as I can, it's supposed to be better because the other jedi will change alignment with you, so if you go evil, so do they. Didn't have many evil jedi the first time around, so that's a plus. As good as the other characters may be in KOTOR I, any jedi can SO kick their butt.

Yeah, I so hated killing off my party. I got so attached to them. I wouldn't make a decent evil character anyways... I just wanted to see what the outcome would be. Playing AD&D I played a paladin up to about 11th or 12th level and after that most of my characters were true neutral. I didn't like announcing I was coming to kill something bigger and nastier than myself like an idiot to prove I was "good". Sheesh! Druid/rangers seem to be more my style.

In my infinite boredom, I actually put my POR:ruins of myth drannor back into computer. Started out with my normal party of Fighter, Paladin, Rogue and Cleric and still wasn't having that much fun. So I decided to go Ranger, Fighter, Pal, and Cleric and had Ranger take Rogue at level 2 to pick locks. Funny thing is now I'm actually starting to enjoy it more, someone not dieing every time. I guess the joy is being able to take a hit and Heal after, gave my Ranger all the healing potions just in case. Since he is ranged he won't normally get hit with AoO when he goes to heal a downed character. Stop being bullheaded and try different party types and Bammm get a whole new feel for game.

I used to have Torment...Frankly it got old being a dead guy all the time and I was hopeing for a little more travel through the Planes but definatly a good source for info about Sigil and Planar creatures and the plot was interesting. Never would have guessed the truth. Spell effects were pretty kewl as was the sound effects...and who would ever have thought that empathic story tellers could be so.....sensual? My favorite though was the teifling....reminded me of that short, red headed irish chick from Hurcules the series.

You get out of Sigil after a while, and some of the other planes are rather interesting, but you do spend most of the game there. One other reason that game was the best- your party members rocked! Ignus, the mage, aka a walking portal to the fire elemental plane, a tiefling, a succubus, a modron, a wisecracking floating skull, a philosophic githzerai, and whatever the heck that suit of animated armor was. It's like having a whole party full of Minsk and Boo ;D

Lol. I don't recall the suit of armour and while you do get out of sigil it is only a breif time in the first layer of the nine hells. And you do get to visit one of the outlands. Yes the party members do rock. The wise cracking skull and the teifling were my favorits.

The armor is the last character you can get, he's in a small chamber by the world portal in a prison on one of the non-sigil worlds. He can be easy to miss. The Modron was one of the characters I liked, he was so quirky, and that pocket dimension of theirs was fun. And Ignus... gotta love a mage who can teach you spells by immolating your finger, eye, and I forget what other body parts. I like the freedom in that game for good and evil and how you can change events accordingly. I'm a fan of multiple-ending games (KOTOR, BG II) where you can choose your destiny- even if all the choices lead the same place anyway

hey back to what this started as
if you spend time talking and arguing(passionly) about people's(real one) aliment, class, lvl, skills, and feat/speacial abilties.
you look around and figurre out how much skill points it takes to accomplish thing (climing fences, moving silently pass your girlfriend/friends/cops/guards, to get that really hot girl to go out with vera so he can stop compalining)
wishing ya had a weaponds on y at all times and not be questioned.

How about: You've made your real-life self into a character out of boredom, but got embarassed by the low charisma and upped your stats. Of course, a lot of people end up playing that character
