Eyeing the pools of goo still on the floor, Trix edges her way towards the gold coins, while evaluating the rest of the loot to see if there's anything "pretty and shiny."

<Feet thumping with pain, and winded from continuously beating upon the cube, Hendrick leans upon his trusty warclub catching his breath.>
Sweet Tymora, that was a foul creature.
<Hendrick's eyes fall upon the mace and he bends to pick it up, as he does so his club slips out from underneath him as he is leaning upon it and down he goes face first into the slimy muck sputtering and cursing. It takes him fully 2 minutes to pick himself out of the muck for every time it seemed that he was making headway a hand or knee would slip and he would go crashing down all over again. when he finally got to his feet he had both his club and his newly sought prize in hand. He grumbled to himself verbally lashing his ancestors and shuffled off to a quiet corner to inspect his new mace.>

*Simarillacabum idley saunters over to where five vials lay on the floor. He bends down to pick them up and is now fully aware of the tattered state of his robes. The ragged edges cut just below the knees, peices of cloth dangeling behind him and the uncomfortable draft sent up his, hairy, toothpick legs. Sim mutters as he picks up the vials.*
"Damn that halfling burrmucker, I aught to turn him into a Bermehian hair spitting toad. Arrgh"
Having made his way into the room now that all was secure, Snickerpuss stands back to study the puzzle, thoughts of food dancing in his mind, cakes and custards and pies.......ooohhh, pies.

*Nicholas takes the silver dagger, Hendrick the mace, Trixl likes the color of gold.......but no one is interested in a sword with a ruby in the hilt? How odd for treasure seeking adventurers?*
*Sim's 5 glass vials contain: 2 potions of cure light wounds, 1 potion of diminution, 1 potion of invisibility, and 1 poison - mild*
*Hmmm, seems that Sim might have an inkling to solving the puzzle on the door, but will he be brave enough to press the symbol?*

Snickerpuss scampers over to where Sim stands, examining the vials. He leaps, with some effort onto Sim's tattered robes and bounds up and onto his shoulder where he chitters his find to Sim.
"Oh!, Do tell. Whats this then, Pies? Oh do slow down Snickerpuss, your babbling. Yes, yes I saw the door. Oh, Ohhh!, Oh yes of course."
Sim turns to the rest of the party with a grin
I Believe I have solved the riddle...quite easy really, the alchemical mathematical formula transfiguring the circumference of the geometrically precise, two dimensional sphere on a three dimensional space equaling its area without including its mass and considering its radius can only be arrived at by calculating the mystical theorem of ..... heheh.....Phi, or in this case...Pie!
Sim smiles with a look that says " I knew it all along" while Snickerpuss rolls his eyes and sighs.
Sim saunters over to the door and looks about to press one of the symbols but stops, calling for the halfling to ply his trade at finding traps.

Nicholas cautiously walks towards the door. Personally, he had little inkling of what the riddle meant, he was thinking of the donuts, as in 13 in a baker's dozen. Or a tart, as in a streetwalker- well, I guess you _can_ eat those, but it costs extra. The mathematical ramblings were not something he was familiar with. Still, if the wizard wanted to risk getting his arm blown off, that was fine with Nick. The halfling checks the door, trying to find any additional traps, but knowing that there is almost certainly something which will happen when the incorrect pastry is pushed.

Not about to leave any loot behind, Trix reaches out with the torch to push the sword with the pretty ruby out of the goo. After all, if she's not going to get paid for this why would she be fighting evil, gooey, yicky monsters. (Although she doesn't like to admit it even to herself, she does get a real thrill out of ridding the world of these yucky things. It's sort of like killing a spider that was walking across the ceiling over your head and knowing that you are now safe from having something with long legs entangle itself in your hair.)

*As Trixl pushes at the sword, she will notice that the ruby is loose in its setting. If she tries to take the ruby out of the setting, she will then notice that its base is elongated into the shape of a key which rests inside the hilt of the sword. This "key" does not fit the door that the adventurers are looking at now.*
*Nicholas indeed detects that the door is trapped, but cannot determine what kind of contraption it is, or how to disarm it.*

Trix rescues the sword from the "icky" gelatinous mess on the floor.
"Bloody nasty critter to 'a got a nice sword."
She looks over her prize, scrutinizing it as best she can. She notices the loose ruby in the hilt.
"Aw, bloody @#%$$ ^%#@#$ h**l! It would be broken. No wonder they let tha goo have it."
She flicks her fingers at the ruby several times. In her mind a little voice tells her that if she pokes and prods at it enough, she'll somehow miraculously return the ruby to its proper position in the setting and the sword will be as good as new again. Disgusted by the ruby's lack of courtesy, she wipes any remaining goo off the sword and moves to an area of the room where she can kneel in relative cleanliness. She puts down the sword and removes her backpack to deposit her first disappointing find from the dungeon. With her pack opened and the sword waving about in the air as Trix rummages to find a good spot to stow it, she turns her face to her companions.
"Well, fellas if dis is what we'll find, we may as well git to another dungeon now. This thing's broken awready."

Stepping away from the door, Nicholas shakes his head. "Sorry, the traps seem to be tied in with the riddle- they didn't want people just mucking about with the mechanism and making the whole thing a joke, looks like you have to guess right. So, er, while you do that, I'll be... behind you..." Desperate for something else to do in case the loopy mage has guessed incorrectly, he dashes over to Trix.
"Broken, eh? Let me take a look at that, I've fixed quite a few things in my time. Well, disabled, anyway." His previous experiences with the unlucky cleric have made him wary of catastrophic interference, so he tries to be sure he is out of any line of fire the trapped door may have.

<Hendrick looks at the door with such concentration that he begins to sweat and his face turns beat red.>
Well <he says shaking his head and breathing hard.> I say we go with the mage's explanation for it certainly sounded good, I can find no fault in his logic. I say we press the PIe

With the majority in favor Sim smiles, rolls up his sleeves dramatically and with an elaborate twist of his wrist, Sim produces his forefinger and presses the Pie symbol.
Snarfalopolis perches on Sim's shoulder, leaning forward, eyes glittering with expectation and anticipation of what lays beyond.

*As Sim pushes the pie symbol, a soft click can be heard. With the door now unlocked he is able to push it open to peer into a room densely filled with cobwebs, and a foul, stale odor lurks from within. The light shining in reveals the wolf, waiting just inside, curled up as if she had been napping. With a growling yawn she stands, stretches,, and slowly moves towards Sim. Wearing what appears to be a smile upon her face.*
"As you can see, this room is approximately 10’ x 10’. Stepping forward, about 2’ into the room you are able to make out a stairway leading downwards some 10’ opening into a 20’ x 80’ long room. There are two doors. 1 is located 50’ along the western wall. Another is on the northern wall. As you look around you can see intricate murals, of various settings, such as a garden, desert, jungle, river bank, cave, a rocky crag, All done with such intricate detail that it seems real. In all of these murals you can see glinting eyes, staring out at you, caused by various gems, of rubies, sapphires, malachite, peridot, topaz, emeralds, amethysts, and diamonds sparkling in the flickering torchlight. Making the murals appear as if they have come to life."
The wolf then disappears. When she reappears she’s a mere three feet from the party, her amber eyes glittering with something that could not be identified. Her body so well blending into the darkness around her, her presence would have easily gone unnoticed had she not spoken once again
"Perhaps you have learned something from your previous encounters? I do hope so, for your quest is not yet over, nor has it strayed far from the beginning. I suggest you heed my warnings and give much thought to things, or I, and my children, may just have the chance to gorge ourselves on some fresh meat."
*The almost smile turns to a snarl; she then vanishes once again."

Trixl ignores Sim and the riddle since she had absolutely no interest in this kind of "wizzerd game." She eyes Nicholas for a moment before giving him the sword.
"Go ahead and try ta fix it. If ya can get the stone ta stay in place just until it's sold, ya can have... uh... some of tha money from it."
