I watched some of the episodes of this. He does quite a few things that don't make alot of sense too in the shows. Some of his survival tips seem cumbersome. I remember one episode where he was trying to star a fire by pulling the bullets out of his shells and crimping them and then firing the gun into the fire to start it. WTF? It kept blowing his kindling all over the place. There is no way, with smokeless powder, that he could be able to light a fire that way. The force would blow out what few sparks emerged from the gun. He had flint and steel, why would you was your time and bullets. If anything, empty the powder into the fire and use the flint and steel. I was so confused by this.

I'm wondering now if that was Man v. Wild or the other similiar show. It's the one where the guy carries all his own camara equipment.
It was so idiotic, I couldn't believe it.
I'm actually a survival buff, I read everything I can on it. The worst case senario books, the US army handbook. I've got about 20 such books. Good stuff in all of them.
I don't know why I find it so intrigueing. It has come in handy though. Fortifies the mind for emergencies. You just act without thinking.
My wife was closing the screen door by the glass instead of the frame on an old "real" glass one. She pushed her hand straight through the glass and sliced her arm almost down to the bone. She totally paniced and I jumped into action. They were able to stitch her up good as new and didn't need to give her a single drop of blood. She thought she was going to bleed to death before she got to the hospital. The EMT was like, consider yourself lucky, whoever treated you first knew what he was doing, that's rare these days.

Yeah, that other show is called Survivorman. I haven't seen it. Good job on saving the wife.

Yeah. It scared the snot out of her...she never had a wound like that before. Not to get into details, but you don't realize what a good job your skin does in keeping your flesh in place until it's integrity is compromized. *shivers*

OMG, I just watched the episode where the guy shoots the gun to start a fire. I see what he was trying to do but I'm sure there are better ways than that.
The show is called Survivorman. It looks interesting but the guy is always having such a hard time it isn't that fun to watch like Man vs Wild.
