This is the reserve thread for material relating to the trial of Cedric's men. Please read the following:
Please post dialogue in a color like yellow to denote in-character speech. Description should be in normal coloring for text. Out of character discussion and comments or questions should be in red. Not trying to be a color Nazi, but it helps me keep everything straight and clear.
When you announce that you intend to hold a trial, and that you have a legitimate druid present, the crowd grows momentarily silent, before erupting into confused shouting. Generally, the mutineers are shocked, the youth are happy and excited, and the prisoners are frightened. Only the captain of the soldiers is unshaken by the news. Quickly the mutineers begin making arrangements, obviously understanding the usual methods. One of them takes a few of the youth away and gives them instructions to bring the boulder to the well, and to bring out some food and drink.
The prisoners are:
the captain - a heavily muscled man with dark hair bound at the back in a club, he was the caster of the spear that killed the uncertain soldier, beginning this whole fiasco
the runner - a smaller man, thin and wiry, with brownish hair, he is a bit younger than the rest of the men, and looks the most nervous, he is the man who was dismounted and subdued by Balla
the trainer - middling build and looks, his hair is lighter in color and shorter than the rest, he was the man who chopped the arm off of the youth whom Paden healed, and was pulled from his saddle by Paden and disarmed by Ayvlan
The mounted mutineer turns to you and introduces himself and the rest of the mutineers. He speaks primarily at this point to Balla, which you all understand as appropriate conduct in this situation.
I am Eber. My companion is Danis. We submit to your judgments, and will abide by your law. In the meantime, I swear by my name that we will do no harm to you, your companions, or to the youths. In what manner should we deal with the dead?
He gestures back to the corpses on the ground, mutineer and loyalist alike.
Please figure out how you want to proceed, before the trial itself begins. Once the trial begins, I will guide us through it, though obviously you will be in control of events. I will serve as a cultural director more than anything else.
