You guys can post your actions now if you like. Joe, food or drink? There are bar patrons if you have any questions. Dimitri, where are you headed. Tavern, shop, lakeside, Inn? Any other actions any of you wish to perform just post away.

what thread are you starting this on? what's the name of the city or town? what's the name of the inn or inns in the town? is it a town, hamlet, village, or city? is it gated or walled or open? what do the common folk look like, farmers, traders, poor, middle-classed?
I will want to perform with the innkeeper/tavern owners permission and learn a little bit about the town from the locals. Once I know where we beginning.

I will eventually want to know what the initials on the bag were and will be keeping an eye towards the fella who stuck me with this bag. Till then I will keep it secreted away most likely.
Just as a note: Lime Green is for thoughts, Yellow is for spoken dialogue, and I'll likely use Red for actions that require rolling (like attack, damage, saves, and skill checks).
As a bit of character stuff, Garrett considers himself a little bit of an anarchist (whatever that means in this world). He doesn't like governments and hierarchical structures. He is not a part of a thieve's guild. He prefers to rob those who are evil in his eyes. This means oppressive people like slave owners, unjust merchants, tax collectors who exploit the populace - what we might call the bourgeoisie. He doesn't really try to redistribute the wealth - he isn't Robin Hood. He will occassionally help out someone in need, especially if there is a way to make a buck for himself (such as stealing back their unjust taxes, and keeping a small percentage for himself). He would be willing, however, to rob slaveowners just for the heck of it - he loves freedom too much to ever let that go undealt with. To this point, he has had little ability to do anything about it, but it is something he keeps an eye out for.
All in all, he is a kinda like an August Spies character, at least in my mind. If this changes him from CG to CN, so be it.

Based on my perform checks, the crowd was okay with my song a little better then average performance. But my oratation, that was a great performance just under a memorable performance. How much do the patron's tip me?
Tarren's intention is to rest for an hour or so, then wander the town to gather information. Then return to the tavern at supper for a performance or two and evening meal.

Hey, what's going on? I rolled a 28 total on sleight of hand and Dmitri rolled a 20 on spot, so he shouldn't see where the coin purse went right? Did Thomas the Barkeep roll a spot check?

I think the issue is that the die roller shows a 14 on a d20, add your +4 = 18. I was wondering where the 28 came from. I don't think such a result is even possible if you only have a +4 modifier to SoH. Not a big deal to me - Garrett always watches money though. Always.

It's all good as far as I am concerned... sometimes I find myself amazed by my own magnificence as well. I gotta remember to sell that +10 headband of awesomeness or get a ring of greater personal humility...

Heh, sorry for not responding here.
The town is a small hamlet
The patrons are tipping in copper and silver. You'll have made about 12 gp by the end of the night. Not a bad catch.
ok it helps to have a standard format for everyone to work with. Here are some suggestions.
Use quotes "" when speaking and start them on a new line. Use italics when thinking to yourself. To post a quick ooc post use the star ** and italics.
I will be using red for OOC DM notations and such. Yellow for talking and green for thought.
Joe you need to respond to Festivia's comments after you're done playing and also to Garrett's introduction/comments. Presumably in that order.

The dice roller hates me. Knew I should have put ranks in bluff. Gonna have to remember to put a few ranks there as time goes by. Course, where will I take them from, that is the question. Stupid Climb and Jump skills...

So just out of curiosity, are we in Faerun? We're talking about the Ten Towns, and that sounds really familiar. Doesn't matter to me if we are or aren't - just helps to give a sense of what the world outside this hamlet is like.

The Tentowns were popularized by the Icewind Dale games. North of Neverwinter, I think. I have a cloth map around here somewhere, heh.

Thought that was about it - also the Drizzt novels are set about in that area.
And yea, it is north of Neverwinter and Luskan if my memory serves.
Thanx Rince - just realized I have the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, coulda checked pretty easily myself.
