I'm just getting a feel for the level of interest on this..
Would anyone be interested in playing some 4th edition D&D online using Teamspeak/Ventrilo and a freeware application called Gametable? This is NOT the gametable in development by WotC but a small free program that's been around for a couple years.
I have a gaming group now that plays using these means. We have a blast, but lately they're hard to get together due to chaotic schedules and its falling apart.
Teamspeak and Ventrilo are voice chat programs for use in online gaming. You'd need a headset microphone to properly use the program.
Gametable is free and available from their site, here. It allows multiple users to connect and share a whiteboard space with grid lines. Icons (called Pogs) can be placed on the map like `minis` to move around as your character. It also has an dice roller with programmable macros. Think of it as Paint....for RPGs.
Here is a good screen shot of it:

The map can be hidden from the players and only the DM can see the entire thing. As the players progress through the map, the DM can reveal parts at a time. The dudes are outside the room because I haven't brought them in to reveal to the players yet. They are assigned numbers to make targeting easier. "I swing my mace at number 1".
If anyone is interested in fiddling with the program, please download it and have a go with it. Its very versatile and I've used it for over a year now with great success </borat>.
Right now, I'm just curious if anyone here would be interested in playing one Friday or Saturday evening every month or so? Nothing set in stone yet.
