Just a few thoughts to help with the flow of the game.
1. Posting rate
Requested posting rate is one post/day on weekdays, one post/weekend. Of course if the story is progressing faster then use your judgment to post more often. If you disappear for a while we will be forced to NPC your character at the cost of experience during that time. Everyone has a life outside and we all understand that. If you are going to be gone for a while, let everyone know so we can NPC it for you to keep the game moving.
When posting please keep the following in mind:
a. When posting general narratives just use plain old white.
b. When the character is going to say something use orange so we know this.
c. If you want to post your characters thoughts use purple. Hmm, why would I post my thoughts Can we say role play experience?
d. It is assumed when you are speaking that you are speaking in Kingdom (Common) When you speak in a different language use yellow Language Spoken "Blah Blah"
2. Issues with other players
Any problems with another player please let the DMs know. I ask you to keep in mind before you join that this game is serious and comical at times. If you are able to determine between the two you will be ok.
3. Acceptable Language
A swear every now and then is fine but consistent swearing just for the sake of swearing will not be accepted. If you really are a role-player you should be able to use other methods.
4. Posting length: This is a role-playing game, I'd ask you to refrain from one line post. Also I would prefer you to speak in the third person. This should be the general consensus so the narrative is consistent.
Anytime you roll for something please write a descriptive of the action (don't just post your rolls). If you are doing stuff in secret send the rolls and actions via PM to BOTH the DMs.
5. Problems with the game
If there is something that you do not like or you are not happy with please let the DMs know. We are always striving to help you with your personal goal. However we need your feedback on how we are doing NO ONE will be penalized for sharing there opinion in fact we encourage it.
6. Your Character
We really encourage goals and character development. If you have an idea or we write something that gives you a good idea let us know and we will do my best to add it to the game. You fuel your character so the more you give us the more we have to work with.
7. OOC Info
One warning will be given about you using OOC info, if it continues then we will be forced to take action. Please try and keep what you know about others to yourself, especially if it comes from other players. Your character only knows what s/he has learned in game.
Also please use the OOC thread to talk about the game but do not clutter the Story Thread with OOC chatter or it will be deleted.
8. Have Fun Role-playing
Always enjoy what you do and have fun in the game.
9. Skill checks and other rolls
Always roll when you are asked to roll or a situation might require a check. No matter how many ranks you have or how high your skill check modifier is if you roll a 1 you fail at the task.
10. Combat Rules
Combat is where the game can really slow down. To help keep things moving quickly please follow these simple guidelines:
a. When we say roll initiative please do and roll your first round action.
b. You do not post in initiative order, you post when you can and once everyone has posted we will resolve the round in the proper order. If something happens that would change your action (such as an opponent being removed from combat) we will discuss this with you so your turn is not wasted.
c. Make and post all rolls. It takes forever if you roll to hit. I say hit, you roll damage, I give result. Remember, not all hits will hit the target and if you miss the target the damage is going somewhere, maybe in the ground, into a tree. Long story short, post BOTH attack and damage rolls.
11. This is a core only game. It will save us a lot of extra work if we don't have to look up all the obscure equipment, feats, spells, skills, etc.
