hello,i am bill.i am in the lancaster area.well i will just get to the point,ok.i am looking for a group to play with.i can either run a pc or even dm.i have been playing for many years and have all the books.my old grouped ended due to a dispute with one of them, tho the others may wish to join up as well.i know 6 feet under has moved and i am sure for many ,like myself it is a little more of a run there.if by chance i would to dm.i would suggest to play at my place or somewhere that is agreed upon.either way i am looking for a group,i must say this one thing,i am a traditionalist about the game..... Merry Meet Bill and welcome to the Hall. I've moved your post here, so you may have your own introduction thread. We need DMs, so if you'd like to start a game, please let an admin know, and we'll set up an LGG4 subforum up for you. You'll be able to set up "create character", "background", "OOC" and whatever other threads you need.

Hi, good to see you. I don't know which of the other games here are making new members, but I'm looking for a few more people for LGG3. You can find our information under the LGG3 tab in the Lancaster's Dungeons and Dragons Gaming Groups, with all the campaign information posted in the "Character Creation and Background" thread. Have fun! Oh, most of the groups use version 3 or 3.5 of the rules, FYI.

DM?! Did you just say you could DM? Hey, guys, he can DM! Well we have more players to go around than we have DM's to DM. People are always poking about, waiting for an opening. I myslef run 3 groups now. The PAHWG started out 2E but has graduated to 3E. And of course your welcome to join in any of the games that present an opening. I've never visited Rincewind during one of his games but he seems to have a solidly built world with some intreaguing ideas. Check it out. LGG2 is full and their may or maynot be a spot open PAHWG. The verdict is still out on that one. What do you mean by traditionalist?

Welcome and well met, Mageprophet. I personally feel you can never have too much D&D going on. My wife of course feels a little differently.

well,i DMed for several years.i had my share of various types of players.i use forgotten realms as my base world.tho i use various material from other sources, like monsters mostly,or unanything that catches my eye to spice things up.i do most of my stuff on the fly,i do r by a basic guidline.i perfer t use visual aids, but i am not rich so i tend to facsimalies if need be,if ya know what i mean.i stick mostly with the rules,i ran in to probs went i winged and someone came along to bust me on it.so the way i do things are based on experience dealing all types of players.i do like to joke around, take 5 when need be.cuz in that time i can clear my mind and figure out my death dealing encounter, lol.i do have a campaign in mind and possible plans to do an epic run.i do perfer to play at someones house,it makes for a more relaxing session people to trust incase i can leave a few things there to help cut down the luggage.of course i will be nervous for a few times.cant say when all this will happen, need to see whos out there.the first session may not involve any game playing, but an intro of all the poeple, give a moment to know everyone.to give an insite to how i run things as a dm and how you the players do things, find out why ya pick your pcs and so forth.this would give me time to incorperate the pcs in what i planned and see if i need to make changes.there maybe a few baned books, but open to try them out.this all may sound weird or i dont know, want to try something new than what i am used to.when everything goes well,i enjoy sitting back and watch the pcs unfold before me.no more than 5 players tho,i am used to a small group...well lets see what happens.....

Ah well then you know, you sound alot like I do, as far as gaming goes. I do like to expirement but I have no qualms if someone calls me on a rule, can't know everything. Still, if it is counter to a major plot then DM RULES!!! I currently am engaged in an Epic plot with the LGG1, wether they realize it or not. (What, and you guys thought all you have to do is stop some no name deity like Drinn? HAhahaha) I use music, cheap visual aids (Hey those little marble things work just fine as monsters..... and dead pc's.......and trees. Well they are different color. So what the two black ones are a Drow and a Black Dragon) and I like to do my oun sound FX. (FOOOOMP! Ta Da!) Yup, Sher souwnds lika ya be doin juuuust fine round these here parts.

a dm cant know all the rules, cuz the dm has alot on his or her mind .i dont get mad if someone calls me on a rule.infact that flatters me cuz then i know they are being knowledgable about the game and their character.so in that case i dont have to worry about babysitting them, taking less from what i need to worry about.my definition of a dm is like this, putting this in in laymans terms.the whole game is a movie in production, the dmdirectoer",the pcs"actors".the sets the atmospere and coducts the pcs what this scene is about, the pcs play their parts in that scene.if all goes well, the "movie comes out a blockbuster.if it doesnt then it falls apart and either side isnt happy.not saying everything always goes as planned, gettin it close is just as good.as a dm,when i can sit back and just watch the pcs are roleplayed well, then i feel good and know everything is right as rain.i am sure every dm that uses this site can tell ya the same thing.what effects one side also effects the other equally or more.like i said i played with all kinds of players.i had my share of failing sessions, even to the point where i threw the campaign away and devised a new one.i will say this i do keep alot of paper work and i will ask the pcs to keep some too.i have a sheet, that when ya gain a new level,to write the basic info on the sheet.this has a multi purpose to it,incase you lose your sheet or forgot to bring it,to let you see your pc as it goes in level, incase of cheaters, aslo i dont need to keep asking you for info.keep track of teasure, not only what but where ya got it.i do have a variety of player and dm aids that i came across in my internet journeys.just now i am not sure when are good days to play or where and who wants in.i have ran marathon games that lasted 18 hours and kept the game going for 3 days straight.on the average that i ran usualy lasted anywhere from 8 to 12 hours, granted its not solid playing, breaks for food,or someone had to run an errand or whatever.oh by the way i am 39.been playing dnd since 8th grade,so something like 25 years,yikes...so lets see if their are any victims who would be interested and if any of them can offer a place to play.i have played at 6 feet under in the cubicles.but it made me feel tired and almost out of it.

Well, there are no "cubicles" at Six Feet Under Games anymore, since they moved to their new location in New Holland. These days, you just play at some large tables in the main room, which isn't too bad if you don't need privacy.
I have been thinking it would be nice to play a little closer to home, but my wife doesn't want to do more than the one campaign we're already doing at our house and the only other person's house we've used was a bit cramped. Maybe when/if East Coast Gamers gets private rooms, dunno.

Yes, you will need to supply your own sword, shield, or spear. You will also need to supply your own food, however the captain will be required to have an ample supply of Ale on board. You will also need to supply your own oar and muscle to use said oar, when the wind is not favorable.
There will be no female companionship onboard as the only women on board will be Valkrie and if you want their conpanionship you may have some difficulty acquiring it.

The Valkryie aren't that bad. Ya just gotta know how to treat them. They like it rough.
Well met indeed Megaprophet. I'll be 35 in March so I'm with ya. I would be interested to see your record sheets. I have a few but don't have much time to fill em out and I haven't found a format I'm happy with yet. Suprisingly I am able to keep most things in my head. And of course I have copy of everyones characters.
May your gaming grow fruitfull and multiply.
