They just confirmed that MP-03 will be Starscream. Squee!! Hehe. Mmmm, crowny. And if he's got well-articulated hands like MP-01 (Prime) then he should be able to hold a miniature Megatron pistol...... Oh, and the price went down by $10. Of course, I didn't consider the possibilities in this Masterpiece toy... Takara will almost certainly come out with MP-04 and MP-05 as Skywarp and Thundercracker, since they all use the same mold. No crowns for either of them, of course, but just color 'em differently and bingo. So now I've got to figure out... should I get them too? Eeek! Edit: For the Jetfire fans, since they're making one plane, I wouldn't be surprised if they made more later...

Dude that is sooooooo sweet! The only thing I wish they had done was that the original Optimus Trailer had these really kewl decal stickers on the inside which showed modulation waves and computer screens and weird si-fi stuff like that. It gave it more atmosphere. Still, the articulated hands are AWSOME! and the little rover is way better. Gotta get one!!!
Ohhh and Starscream is ....Such a Scream! I used to have both originals before my bro decided to take em apart. Man, I gotta have these! I think LWW would protest but really, these are way kewl. thanx for te links.

Well, they don't know what the inside of the new trailer for Masterpiece Prime (MP-04) will look like yet, it's possible it'll have all those bells and whistles. We'll see in a few months. The hybrid prime with the jetpack (picture pages about 3 posts above) is pretty sweet too. I looked at the Starscream pictures and noted that he's got movable wing flaps, hehe. They better have a crown and a Megatron pistol included too if they know what's good for 'em

There's a new version of the US Masterpiece Prime with a base, apparently he says some phrases from the movie as well. He's at the top of the page at the following link: www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/menu.aspx?menu=943If you look down a bit further, they're doing some... er... reinventions? of other classic characters using new molds. They're mostly good, although Megatron sucks, but they could hardly have him be a realistic handgun these days. *grumbles about being able to buy real guns and not toy ones* Anyway, check out the Hot Rod and especially the Starscream, they look very nice, I might be getting one of them.

OK, I need to update this. Avoid the new talking Prime at all costs! His coloration has been changed and is generally bad (not like the cartoon/comics/anything else). But the worst part is that he "says phrases from the movie". This is quite true. Whatever random hack they recorded is indeed reading phrases from the movie, although it's not clear that he has ever seen it or knows who any of the characters are. The sound on this will drive you insane if you know how it's supposed to be. On happier news, there are some Transformer rip-offs of sufficiently high quality for BigBadToyStore to endorse them. This first is the Valkyrie/Veritech Fighter from Robotech/Macross. For the people who like the look of the Robotech/Macross jets or who like Jetfire but can't afford one, this is a great price. Less quality, but if you want better quality it's much more expensive, too. www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=HPW10011&mode=retailSecond, they're making some very nice, detailed transforming cars of various scales, 1:12, 1:18, and 1:32 scale. They all look pretty nice and are inexpensive, so if you like realistic transforming cars but don't nessecarily need them to be Autobots or Decepticons, these are great. www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/menu.aspx?menu=1176&company=329One final Transformers note : They're re-releasing the 1986 Transformers: The Movie, and they've supposedly remastered it. It comes as a two-disc set, one widescreen, one full-screen, and has some nice extras. Costco has it bundled with the first 3 episodes of the original series (which I'm not getting since I own 'em all already).

OK, I've got some very big, important Masterpiece Transformer news here. It looks like MP-05, the 5th Masterpiece transformer, will be none other than Megatron himself, in all his Generation 1 gunliness. BigBadToyStore has a picture of an unpainted prototype on their site at the link below. www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=TAK10668&mode=retailNow, this has some problems for a few reasons. One is that I don't know how he can stand up with that huge gun he has, heh. A second is that, to make him Masterpiece size and quality, he's an oversized gun when transformed, so he won't be as realistic since he'll be too big for a normal gun. Personally I welcome a heftier Walther P-38, the original Megatron is a bit small in my now adult hands, heh. But the biggest problem is that, in this country where you can easily buy a gun almost anywhere, you can't buy a toy gun. Not without a large, ugly, disfiguring yellow or orange thing permamently attached to it, anyway. So, if you order from BBTS, to import this toy legally, they need to open the box and disfigure it. But you can get it, legally and easily from them. On a completely unrelated note, I hear that Canadian laws about the importation of toy guns are rather different than ours and that some canadian suppliers can get unaltered, unopened MP-05 Megatron toys which they will then sell on e-bay. Not that I'm suggesting anything....
