METAL! \m/ My favorite genres of metal are melodic death metal, viking metal, folk metal, traditional heavy metal, thrash and black metal. What about you people?

On occasion, but not todays metal. Greastest Metal band ever: IRON MAIDEN. Plus I like AC/DC, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Deep Purple, you get the Idea I'm and old fart. Dio still rocks and sticks to the fantasy genre of metal still.

Well... most metal fans will argue that a few of the bands you listed aren't metal (AC/DC, Deep Purple, and some will even say Motorhead)... but you seem to like the more traditional heavy metal. Your name makes me think of a band you may like... Dragonforce. They're a very fast power metal band. Black Winter Night is my favorite song of theirs.

I don't think I've ever heard anything quite like it before. That's not a compliment, either. I've heard the last two, I don't really consider them to be metal, all the rest on your second list, I've never heard of. Leave Eyes, I don't know. Cradle of Filth are umm... yeahhhh... I used to listen to a cd or two of theirs, but not anymore. Oh cool, you like Iced Earth... I'm actually listening to them now. Those other lists seem decent. It seems this is a place for fans of popular traditional heavy metal and thrash bands. If you'd like, later on I could show you some bands you may be interested in.

Lets not forget the greats like Bon Jovi, Poison, Cinderella, and other pioneers of the 80s metal scene

How can u say that brother. Bon Jovi is a pioneer and a rock god....You are just mad that he owns the Philadelphia Soul and they are still playin in the playoffs and not the NY dragons. Anyhow. what about Def Lepard? Watched their movie on VH 1 last night. Good movie on their career. God i miss the 80s

I'll admit that Jon was a huge "Hard Rock" star, but he was hardly a metal pioneer.
now Def Leopard is a truely excellent band, however they only really had one great album
