Nah, there is no real strategy in shuffleboard. Knowing how the ice is gonna effect how much the Stone is going to curl. Lining up the shot and using just the right speed to place stone where you want it. Curling is a giant game of Chess on Ice. Using your stones like pawns, removing your opponents pieces one move at a time.
I have seen some really bad shot selections by the U.S. skip, that has cost us 2 matches so far. Miss judging the speed of ice and how much curl the stone will have at the end. Like reading the Oil pattern on a bowling alley on just how much hook will be on the back end.

strategy is a key word and I believe I also saw the word Chess, chess is not a sport it is a game, don't get me wrong it's a great and intellectually stimulating game, however it is still just a game there is no physical challenge involved ergo not a sport scrubbing ice with a broom while sliding is not physically challenging
